Eh. I'm always rerolling to different classes all the time so I have a mix. Right now my Monk is female (Team Hoopz), but I used to use a male one (Caleb Kane).

To me, making a female character is a sign of being desperate, or very horny. Unless you have a good reason, like how the armor looks. But if you create a female character to watch women move and bounce, then you have a problem. The only time I've EVER created Female character was for PvP in RA builds, and only mesmers, or rangers at that.I was a bit aroused those days...

So making a guy means your even more desperate or a circlish? Even if I was off the "path" I wouldn't even dare make any of the male characters due to their ugliness.

this topic is brough up on every game i've ever played, and to be honest its getting a bit used and worn. We play this game to have fun, some place it to escape from stress. Some play it to for other things. But ultimately where here sharing the same Virtual world. And to be honest if a male in rl want to play as a Female because, he likes her apprence or simply wants to be someone else. Or find it not appealing to look at a male behind.

Socity should learn to Adapt, we are living in the computer age and adam may not be adam but Amanda or visa versa. As for the the myth that women don't play computer games, its actully statically proven that we play more online games then males do. Women are also more social, then men also most people who seeme to have a issue with this are, spolied little brats who live of there parent's Credit Cards. I've met so many Kids in what is suppose to be 18+ Mmorpgs, just show that there are way to many parents who give there kids whatever they want.

anyway that's just my 2 yen on the issue

Formly of FF 11, DOAC, SWG, UO (GM), AO, IRO, AC 1 & 2, EQ 1 & 2, WoW, CoH (No it's not that i don't have a life, i'm just married with kids >_>)

Society doesnt adapt to the minority, it adapts to the majority. Its most often that the minority that adapts to the majority.

I'd like to see these statistics. And it seems more often than not that it is women who are afraid to ask a guy on a date, afraid to stand out in a crowd, etc.

Hmm... I've asked a guy out before... and have you ever noticed how women typically dress? COME ON. They totally want to be noticed an oggled.

As for guys who play girl char...

uhmm... like the visual (as said 1000x) and being able to control women, regardless of it being a digital depiction (as said a few) is always a nice bonus.

I usually refer to machines of all kind as "female". My character's my "baby".

Besides, the male model for Assassins and Rangers look horrible (imo).

I choose the gender of character whose armour and model I percieve to look the best - which is why I now wish my Monk was female. I am glad my Elementalist is female, and also that my Ranger was male. I have creatd a female Ritualist purely because the male Ritualist's dance is, well... worse than that of the male Elementalist's.

It's not that I like the female models, I just dislike the male models.

Assassin males look good to me, and I will probably play a male assassin. Male Monks and Warriors also look alright, but everything else is just bad. The male mesmer and elemantalists look really lame, and the male rangers have horrible hair. (atleast in prophecies - don't own factions, stupid CE edition )

I have a female warrior and a necro. The majority of the male models are so damn ugly (or look like David Beckham) that I got fed up of staring at them every time I played.

I'm a guy in real life and all my characters are male.. why? because i don't want a 400 pound 30 year old guys in their parents basement hitting on my toon.

Why do guys play female toons? i say its just for attention and for items/gold. I know a guy in our guild that was playing on his female warrior toon and whenever a gold item dropped for this one dude my guildie got still in its unided form.
when we got back into town the same dude gave our guildie 50k because he asked if anyone had 2k for a superior salvage kit.. LOL.

Two words:

Lara Croft.

Did male players play Tomb Raider because Lara Croft represented the strong individualistic female that the Suffragettes yearned for? Or was it her big pair of.....

...pistols?
